چکیده
Existing tunnels are often subject to longitudinal bending when undercrossing tunnelling. It is of significance more accurately evaluate the equivalent stiffness (LEBS) existing tunnel within influential zone. A new analytical method proposed for LEBS segmental lining joints with consideration incorporating combined action residual jacking force and moment. The solution can degenerate into a special case no force, which agrees well other classical solutions validates model solutions. Sensitivity analyses carried out moment, geometry, tensile bolts concrete grade on LEBS, effective ratio considering force. increase nonlinearly as an S-curve decrease increasing results show that shield variable stiffness, exhibits significant nonlinearity. maximum increment reaches 80.3% ring width increases from 1 m 2 m, by approximately 1.3 × 107 kN·m2 every 4-bolt added. order diameter > thickness number elastic modulus bolts. When than 0.85, it does not change width, thickness, bolts, grade. response characteristics parameters could provide theoretical basis design deformation control

Coupled Bending-Longitudinal Vibration of Three Layer Sandwich Beam using Exact Dynamic Stiffness Matrix
A Newtonian (vectorial) approach is used to develop the governing differential equations of motion for a three layer sandwich beam in which the uniform distribution of mass and stiffness is dealt with exactly. The model allows for each layer of material to be of unequal thickness and the effects of coupled bending and longitudinal motion are accounted for. This results in an eighth order ordina...

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Siffness matrices for axial and bending deformations of a beam having a rectangular cross sectional area of constant width and linearly varying thickness are developed. A consistant load vector for a uniformly distributed lateral load is also calculated, using the principal of potential energy. The matrices are used to obtain numerical results for a variety of beams with non-uniform thickness t...
